Power Consumption
[edit]Hi, What is the source of power consumption info? It is very useful for some people. `a5b 22:57, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
7800 is "Ultra"
[edit]Perhaps adding a 7800 "Ultra" to the table would be a good idea, making reference to the possible 32 pipelines? --Odii 04:19, Jun 20, 2005 (UTC)
- I thought Nvidia were dropping the "ultra" suffix, replacing it with "GTX". Tzarius 01:09, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Given that the main article actually mentions the supposed existence of a 32 pipeline card, I was thinking it would perhaps to be a good idea to enter a further row into the table to make reference to it. I had enclosed "Ultra" in quotation marks to indicate that I was simply referring to it as such (as a "top-of-the-line" card) - not pronouncing the fact it would be called an Ultra (if it infact exists). --Odii 09:56, Jun 22, 2005 (UTC)
- Well, it looks like rumours of the Ultra have been quashed by both DaveJBs additions and the admission on NVIDIA's 7800 site. I'll add an external link section linking to it. --Odii 22:51, Jun 22, 2005 (UTC)
Merge with Geforce 7800
[edit]This article is an orphan, maybe it should be merged? --Ma Baker 12:08, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Rather GeForce 7800 article should be merged with this article. There's no point having a separate article for every model of the 7 Series, See GeForce 6 Series. --Berkut 05:01, 27 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, that's what I meant: Geforce 7800 is the orphan. --Ma Baker 28 June 2005 22:34 (UTC)
- In case someone missed it, they've been merged for a while now. Bourgeoisdude 15:41, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, that's what I meant: Geforce 7800 is the orphan. --Ma Baker 28 June 2005 22:34 (UTC)
Obviously it should be merged
[edit]The rule being applied across the graphics card section is one page per distinct series of cards. All core revisions are grouped onto single pages.
http://nerdypc.wikinerds.org/index.php/Main_Page
For those who like posting datasheets, manuals, etc, the WIKINERDS forum has recently been created. The main WIKI is not a technical database. The articles are supposed to be in some fashion readable. Timharwoodx 29 June 2005 20:38 (UTC)
- I also think the 7800 article should be merged into the 7 Series article.the1physicist 29 June 2005 21:53 (UTC)
- I just wanted to say well done to everyone. We seem to have got past posting every fresh off the wires NVIDIA press release into the WIKI. And the point that cards should be grouped by core revisions onto a single page, seems to be accepted. I did beat one or two folks up over that one, but I would hope you can see it is reasonable way to structure things. Thanks guys. Timharwoodx 09:52, 13 November 2005 (UTC)
Table
[edit]May I ask why the table is displayed twice in the article?the1physicist 20:50, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
GeForce 7300
[edit]Is anyone aware of the GeForce Go 7300 release a while back? I think its exclusive on Asus labtop.
Maybe someone should add an extra section for it.
Shouldn't the 7800gs be mentioned, even though it is not available to consumers? It's a 16 pipe card.
7300 LE is available as an agp card too, I own one.
7800GS AGP
[edit]will be announced shortly. how about we not post anything here until it's announced by NVIDIA? Themindset 18:28, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
...
[edit]Can someone explain to me how the Texel to Pixel fillrates make it look like the GeForce7 series has 1.5 TMUs per pipe..?
The Table
[edit]As the Table in this article is showing all of the GeForce 7 series and not just the 7800 series anymore, should we put it in its own section? Bourgeoisdude 16:59, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
- Perhaps the 7800GT could be re-inserted in the table, and one of the Radeon cards could go (as this is about the Gefordce series of cards). A section of its own would be nice, somewhat cluttered article at the moment. Scoo 15:20, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
7800 GT/GTX discontinued?
[edit]Heard about plans to stop making these two in place of the GS. Shame really, great cards them both, but hey nowt last forever (esp in computers!). JayKeaton 13:56, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
- As per Wikipedia guidelines (see above), I am moving this to the bottom of the page. To answer your question, I must first ask where you heard this info from? Bourgeoisdude 16:54, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
7600 and 7900 series announced by NVIDIA today!!!
[edit]Look here! Bourgeoisdude 17:13, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
I suggest using either chronological order or model number order for listing the different models. Shawnc 20:56, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
NVIDIA Gus???
[edit]Am I missing something? I follow the news about graphics cards every day, but have yet to hear or see an acronym Gus. If it is an acronym, what is it for? Also, if I didn't get it then most wikipedia users won't know it either. We need to remove the "Gus"es or explain what it actually stands for. Bourgeoisdude 22:27, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
- I think it's just a mangled 'GPU'. --128.189.145.156 01:39, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
See Also?
[edit]Why is the Dell listed under pages to see also, esspecially if it violates a copyright? The only reason I can think of is that it uses a geforce 7 series, but there are many systems that do why is it the only one listed?SporkWieldingGnome 21:22, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- It was listed because the Dell XPS 600 Renegade was the first to feature Quad-SLI capabilities, and Dell is currently the only PC manufacturer that offers a quad SLI system (as of today) Bourgeoisdude 15:40, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Broken Thumbnail--how do I fix?
[edit]How do I fix the broken thumbnail at top of screen? Bourgeoisdude 18:28, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
- Nevermind, it works now...Bourgeoisdude 19:11, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
Prices
[edit]I don't that the article should list prices unless they indicate something. Wikipedia is not a buyer's guide. If the prices show something about the product at a particlar time then that shold be made explict. Also the prices will almost always be out of date. Jon513 22:07, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
I concur why are there still prices listed here two months later? 217.132.56.235 02:51, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
GeForce 7300GT
[edit]I'm pretty sure this GPU is SLI-capable, though I'm not sure how to edit this since it seems that all of the 7300s are categorised as non-SLI. Tehue 13:54, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yes. Technically, on NVIDIA's own website it implies that a new ForceWare drivver included with the 7300GT will allow not only the 7300GT to work with SLI, but the 7300LE and 7300GS as well. Check out nvidia.com. Bourgeoisdude 17:27, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
7900GT Fourth Day Syndrom?
[edit]What is this business about a Fourth Day Syndrom? Something that two people have talked about on an internet forum has no place in the article. Especially new technologies. And using "I" and "me" in the article have got to go...--jravida 05:01, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
- AFAIK, this has something to do with alleged failure of the cards after a few days through overheating of the voltage regulators. I'll see if I can dig up any good sources, but it's mostly just hearsay on forums with few posts to collaborate it. Not worth including unless solid evidence is out there. - hitman012 00:28, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
"Trivia"
[edit]It'd probably be best to refrain from adding trivia about graphics cards into articles unless it's of real relevance (in which case it could be integrated into other parts of the text). - hitman012 00:32, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
No mention of the texture shimmering issue?
[edit]It is fairly well-known among the enthusiast circles that the 7xxx series cards shows texture shimmering when using AF in quality mode. High quality mode, depending on driver version, reduces or even eliminates the texture shimmering effect. Strangerguy 09:19, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Poor AGP performance of the 7600 GS?
[edit]I read somewhere that the 7600 GS and other 7 series carda have poor AGP performance due to Nvidia's PCIE-AGP bridge chip not properly using AGP functions. Any truth to this? I'm considering buying a 7600 GS AGP card, but if the poor performance is true then I don't think it would be worth buying.
7800 GS AGP
[edit]Who keeps saying that the performance of the 7800 AGP is between the GeForce 6800 GT and GeForce 6800 Ultra? All tech reports and benchmark tests clearly show that this card out performs all of the 6800 models! If you insist on changing this page again, why dont you leave a link of where you are getting this information... All you need to do is look at any benchmark to verify that it is better.
7950 GT mem clocks
[edit]I'm sure that the memory clocks are 700 Mhz, not "1400-1565 (depending on version)".. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.251.227.122 (talk • contribs)
- Actually, it's 700 MHz, but 1400 MHz effective. Themindset 16:37, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
Where is the 7500 series?
[edit]I've just bought a computer with a GeForce 7500 LE card, but the whole series seems to be missing from this page? Maybe it should get the

tag? And then again, it seems to be an OEM only card? Maybe a short note about how these are not covered?
- Isn't the 7500 a Go series? Speaking of which, I have noticed the Go series is missing from this list altogether--hmm...Bourgeoisdude 15:47, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
The 7500 LE is only sold to computer manufacturers like HP. You won't be able to find retail versions of this card.
7200
[edit]Yeah there is nothing about GeForce Go, like GeForce Go 7200.
- i found it but it's incomplete [1]--83.190.166.81 05:51, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

7800GTX (Features Included)
[edit]A passage in the 7800GTX summary talks about the GPU including such 'standard features' as radiosity and HDR lighting. Surely this should be changed as even cards like the FX5200 could render these effects and it is not as if these are features that simply require being 'turned on' by the programmer.

Fair use rationale for Image:Gf7series.png
[edit]Image:Gf7series.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Geforce 7300LE does support turbocache
[edit]Geforce 7300LE does support turbocache. I own ASUS EN7300TC256, with a GF 7300LE chip and turbocache. And, yes, it is sold as "256 MB video card", by my local seller :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.220.96.190 (talk) 10:56, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Yes, 7300 AGP variants do exist, some AGP 7300GT's have a 128bit memory interface as well... (missing from GPU tables) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.127.128.2 (talk) 23:08, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
Neutrality dispure
[edit]Under the 7950GX2 "According to some review sites (such as Tom's Hardware - see above), a single 7950GX2 draws less power than a single ATI Radeon X1900 XT – some consider this an amazing feat considering the GX2 employs a pair of GPUs, when the Radeon uses only one. Other review sites say that a GX2 is quieter than the aforementioned Radeon,[26] despite the GX2 boasting a pair of identical GPU coolers – however 'loudness' is highly subjective without the proper tools and testing conditions. If true, this would make a pair of GX2 cards cooler, quieter, and less power hungry than a pair of X1900 XT cards in CrossFire. However, there is no appreciable performance gain from pairing two 7950 GX2 cards in most applications, while dual X1900 XT configurations see large performance boosts in CrossFire mode"
Too many weasel words, dismissal of all negative comments in cited reviews. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.41.145.24 (talk) 10:57, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

There are two (2) instances of the acronym (I assume it's an acronym) GCAA, with no mention of (or linkage to) what GCAA means.
