I went ahead and redirected Gays for Trump DeploraBall to this article, but readers can find some information about the event at DeploraBall. ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:38, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request for linkage to March4Trump Wiki

[edit]

Hi. Can someone take a look at these links its one of many: https://newsinwales.co.uk/exclusive-joy-villa-calls-for-love-tolerance-at-gays-for-trump-rally/ http://www.washingtonblade.com/2017/03/01/gays-trump-rally-d-c-march-4/ http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/trump-dress-grammy-star-to-lead-gaysfortrump-march-in-dc/article/2616397 http://www.inquisitr.com/4029862/gays-for-trump-spur-march-4-trump-rally-in-d-c-as-gay-rights-stay-intact/ http://beltwaytimes.com/march4trump-group-gets-unexpected-ally/ http://www.breitbart.com/big-hollywood/2017/03/06/exclusive-joy-villa-calls-for-love-and-tolerance-during-gays-for-trump-rally-in-d-c/ - Approximately 1,000 people attended Sunday’s D.C. rally and march. “Antifa” was also present and caused violence and disruptions in other parts of the country where similar rallies were held. - Villa flew into D.C. with Andre Soriano from Los Angles Saturday night to speak at the rally and march from the Washington Monument. “Gays 4 Trump” founder Peter Boykin organized the rally and march.

There should be enough in these articles to provide info to update the March4trump wiki and connect it to the Gays For Trump wiki, also to add more to the size of the rally than the smaller number stated in the current wiki. I cannot of course update it since I have a COI and I don't want any trouble. Thanks - @peterboykin — Preceding unsigned comment added by PeterBoykin (talkcontribs) 20:13, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notable?

[edit]

Notability might need to at some point be established here. There is no real indication that the group is here to stay or in any way prominent beyond a quick mention in media. Bataaf van Oranje (Prinsgezinde) (talk) 22:52, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think the org may be notable, but I'm less inclined to spend time expanding this article for personal reasons. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:46, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm copying this string of inline citations for future reference. They weren't serving a purpose in the article, apart from demonstrating general notability:

Peter Boykin Greensboro 2018(?)

[edit]

In 2018, Peter Boykin attempted to organize a rally/march in downtown Greensboro, NC, right near the Governmental Plaza. However, the night before, he communicated to his people that he wouldn't be there because his mom had a fall. The very few people that were there (about 5,6) drove across the whole state to be there, only to be under a tent that had people selling Trump shirts. They were quickly ran away from local Anti Fascists when they played "The Guillotine" by The Coup. During the confrontation, many anti-gay slurs could be heard from the few attendees. A number of attendees were known violent Proud Boys, and later tried to instigate violence when they came out of the bar they hid out at.

Many of the people who didn't come later denounced Boykin, calling him a traitor and whatnot. Boykin also, if my memory serves me right, said that he was either done with or taking a break from any sort of activism or politics. I can dig for details since I know lots of the people involved, but I was wondering if other folks who have more time to write on here were also aware of this. I'm also not 100% sure what year it was, and also don't remember when this happened exactly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.187.141.254 (talk) 21:52, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Note I accidentally removed this section, I was not sure how to add it back. I will note that the above does not make any sense as no sources were given, plus multiple times whoever wrote this could not even recall their own story. This is what I meant to put in the previous edit. Thanks 7valentine7

Support removal of content about Presler

[edit]

An IP user recently removed a sentence: "Political activist Scott Presler is a member of Gays for Trump." [1]

After looking into it, I agree with this removal. Presler only showed up in an image caption of the linked source, and recent news about him doesn't mention his involvement with Gays for Trump at all, thus indicating that the association isn't of sustained importance to the individual. After looking at coverage on Presler, he might meet notability standards in his own rights, so I'm adding this comment here. Jlevi (talk) 09:58, 9 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It is not due based on that sourcing. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 21:01, 9 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yup. I think we're all on the same page. Jlevi (talk) 20:46, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
