Date of birth

[edit]

Most sources quote his date of birth as 4 March 1924 ("Legends of Real Valladolid", www.eu-football.info and www.national-football-teams.com) which is the date used in the article. Other sources (e.g. www.bdfutbol.com) give the date of birth as 6 November 1922. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 09:37, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have shown his date of birth as 6 November 1922. This biography and Spanish wikipedia give it as 4 March 1924. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 06:49, 19 October 2012 (UTC)I got the DOB from this... GiantSnowman 07:50, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the response. bdfutbol seems to be the only source that gives 6 November 1922. As far as I can see, every other source says 4 March 1924; IMHO, we should go with the majority and his biography. It's your decision. ;) -- Daemonic Kangaroo(talk) 08:02, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm happy for you to change it with a note on the talk page. GiantSnowman 08:03, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • However, the article as we stand reads 24 March not 4. Is it a typo you made Snowman or was it deliberate? I think we should go with the EL NORTE DE CASTILLA reference (4 March), it's a newspaper with ties to Real Valladolid, which was his main club. I'll ask User:Mega60nonetheless, he's THE BEST in Spanish football database. Cheerio! --AL (talk) 14:01, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, Mega messaged me early today, saying that he talked with someone that works with the BDFUTBOL.com website, and that person has the birth certificate from the player, which reads 4 MARCH 1924.

Case closed, happy week to you mate - --AL (talk) 14:26, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
