Improvement possibilities
[edit]This article is a bit uneven, but has great potential to develop to something solid, a GA candidate for sure. For now, needs more on the life story, and rather more on the poetry, which should be central - and more referencing all round (but there is one solid biography, supplemented by two other semi-bio volumes, so there is a base). Some more developed use of critical commentary, mentions by Kevin Myers, other poets, etc., are clear next steps also. Any other suggestions welcome. SeoR (talk) 09:59, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
- How about this play (2020) "A Day in the Life of . . ." (https://www.creativeireland.gov.ie/en/event/a-day-in-the-death-of-francis-ledwidge/) ?
- Coming back to this, any data out there on one or more CDs of Ledwidge work? SeoR (talk) 00:57, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
Query
[edit]- I have raised a citation need against the statement that his part in Lord Dunsany's literary circle introduced him to W.B. Yeats and Mary Lavin, as the latter was only born in 1912 and thus 5 years old when Ledwidge was killed in 1917. Lavin's wikipedia article mentions neither Ledwidge or Dunsany.Cloptonson (talk) 12:51, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
- This has been addressed. Ledwidge could indeed, of course, not have known Lavin in any substantive sense. SeoR (talk) 00:57, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
