Question
[edit]I have a question about Fisher's Island I wonder if someone could help me out with. I read on a genealogy page the Lamberton or "Phantom Ship" sank off the coast of Fisher's Island. I was wondering if there is historical evidence for this statement. The answer to this question would be helpful to me as I try to understand genealogy in the context of historical events. I read this article on Fisher's Island and get a sense this statement could be true, but it is not included in the text. Can someone help me out? 76.6.211.30 (talk) 16:13, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Demographics
[edit]2001:558:6026:B2:F406:97BD:E506:5DB9 (talk) 14:49, 23 March 2015 (UTC)Hello, After reading the article about Fishers Island, I doubt some of the info given in the 'Demographics' section. It states "...the median income for a family was $59,583." It also states "About 4.5% of families and 9.0% of the population were below the poverty line including...7.9% of those 65 or over." First, I say some folks living there must grossly be understating their income; this on an island of summer rentals, large beach houses, and a golf course! Secondly, how can those people supposedly living below the poverty level afford to live on the island anyway? If anybody can explain this, please feel free to email me at kingspencer@yahoo.com Regards, Spencer C. New Jersey

Dumpling Islands and Flat Hammock
[edit]Is there any reason why North Dumpling Island, South Dumpling Island and Flat Hammock Island aren't included in the list of neighboring islands? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 02:54, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

Misc edit issues
[edit]It is unclear what the writer means by "however, the population rises to about 2,000 during peak summer weekends, as throngs disembark on the island from Connecticut". That does not make sense to me -- throngs disembark ON the island FROM Connecticut? Also one disembarks from a ship or other vessel, not dry land. --Mccommas (talk) 11:20, 4 July 2018 (UTC)
