Hello! I will be reviewing this article. --Cerebellum (talk) 03:51, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- It is reasonably well written.
- a (prose, no copyvios, spelling and grammar): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
- I did some copyediting, let me know if I made anything worse but I think it looks good. One change I made was to de-link things that had been previously linked, like ISIL and Saddam Hussein per WP:OLINK.
- a (prose, no copyvios, spelling and grammar): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
- It is factually accurate and verifiable.
- a (reference section): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
- There are a few dead links, so I couldn't verify everything.
- a (reference section): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
- It is broad in its coverage.
- a (major aspects): b (focused):
- A few concerns here:
The article talks about the fall of Mosul, but doesn't say anything about when or how Tikrit was originally captured by ISIL.
There is no mention of the Camp Speicher massacre on 14 June 2014.
I'm not sure about the connection between the Su-25 aircraft arriving in Baghdad and this battle. Where the aircraft intended to be used in Tikrit?
On 28 June, why was there a column going towards Camp Speicher? According to this, Camp Speicher has never been taken by ISIL.
In the Background section, you mention that the Iraqi Army recaptured Samarra, but you didn't previously say that it had been captured; the only other cities you talked about were Mosul, Fallujha, and Ramadi.
In the lead, you mention that the US was involved, but the body of the article doesn't say how.
- A few concerns here:
- a (major aspects): b (focused):
- It follows the neutral point of view policy.
- Fair representation without bias:
- Fair representation without bias:
- It is stable.
- No edit wars, etc.:
- No edit wars, etc.:
- It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.
- a (images are tagged and non-free content have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
- Has a picture in the infobox. More pictures wouldn't hurt, but they may not be available with the correct licensing. Are there any maps of the city available on Wikimedia Commons? I would be great to see where the university is in relation to the other parts of the city you mention, such as al-Deum.

- Overall:
- Pass/Fail:
- Good article, and extremely well-referenced. If you can resolve the details mentioned above I'll promote this to GA.
I'm putting it on hold for now.--Cerebellum (talk) 15:20, 21 July 2015 (UTC)

- Pass/Fail:
- Cerebellum Hi, I have addressed the issues raised. RRD13 দেবজ্যোতি (talk) 08:52, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
- Royroydeb Good fixes! But you still haven't explained how Tikrit originally fell, which happened on 10 June according to Northern Iraq offensive (June 2014). --Cerebellum (talk) 13:22, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
- Cerebellum, Hi I have added it. RRD13 দেবজ্যোতি (talk) 16:14, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
- Royroydeb OK, actually I was talking about the earlier capture of the city, but it's ok, I've added the information. I'm ready to promote the article now, but I made one more pass through and changed a few things. Please look at it let me know if you disagree with any of my changes, and if it looks good to you I'll close the review as pass. --Cerebellum (talk) 00:19, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
- Cerebellum I would like to thank you for the edits, especially about the edits to background. RRD13 দেবজ্যোতি (talk) 08:43, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for all your cooperation on this! I'm happy to pass as a GA. --Cerebellum (talk) 13:03, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
