Title and current use
[edit]This seems like another case where the QHR named the building after its usage at the time of listing, that usage has now ceased, and the title makes no sense as a result. Google implies that it may now be a hotel and various offices but again, not finding easy sources for this one.
Like the Water Board building, it doesn't seem immediately obvious what the common name for this building would be if we renamed it. Any suggestions? The Drover's Wife (talk) 11:46, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- Title - "Family Service Building" is still what I would still call the building and it get mentions on various tourist/heritage websites under that name so I think it's the best we can do. Currently owned by PromoSeven Pty Ltd (offices on level 7 of the building), internally refurbed and leased as office space, Brisbane City Council rents a couple of floors, not sure about the rest, there's a cafe called The Frisky Goat (or something like that) in the ground floor on the George Street side (not sure what else is on the ground floor, but I doubt the cafe occupies all of it). I think it might be called PromoSeven House or similar(I think there's a small brass plaque saying something like that when you walk past), but I doubt most people would recognise the building by that name.
