[edit]I understand the issue of subjects writing about themselves or their works on Wikipedia. In my case, as the author of the book EYES wIDE OPEN: GOING BEHIND THE ENVIRONMENTAL HEADLINES, I feel I've complied with your guidelines and earned the removal of the flag at the top of the page. Specifically:
All the information I contributed is referenced; it came from respected sources, not my own head.
Quite a few people have contributed to the page at this point, a trend that will continue as the book gets read.
I've taken part in no deletion discussions.
I complied with your wish for more links to Wikipedia articles. The one you apparently object to--the link to the biographical page about me--seems natural to be included.
I mentioned rather than hid the criticism that the book has received.
I read pages about books all the time on Wikipedia that have no references whatsoever and are clearly the work of their authors--pages bearing no warning flags.
What do you say?
