Plot update, July 2018

I condensed the plot section by about 30% and added several wikilinks. While both move toward resolving the respective problems tagged at the top of the page, I'm not sure that they're in an ideal spot yet. I'll hold off on removing the tags for now, but I may remove them after a little bit more work by myself or another editor unless someone objects. Matthew V.
