Theplantlist is confused

[edit]

I've just reverted a worthy effort to use theplantlist.org as a citation for a species list for this genus. Unfortunately, this is one of quite a few case where theplantlist is confused. On the one hand it accepts the results of the study that we are citing here (Gao Fangyou, 1998), listing E. albertii and E. grandiflora both as synonyms of E. racemosa, but then it lists the hybrid E. macrantha as an accepted species at the same level as E. racemosa, which cannot be. (Also, subspecies E. racemosa subsp. giraldii and E. racemosa subsp. serratifolia should not be in the species list.) Sminthopsis84 (talk) 19:14, 6 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I normally use The Plant List as the start of my citations - although like anything it has a few faults ! I should have checked a few more sources ! DavidAnstiss (talk) 15:29, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
