Wales & England

[edit]

While it's not unusual for a player to play for more than one country in rugby league, they usually play for one and then the other (and occasionally back to the first). So it's suspicious that Ernest Ward played for both England (1941–52) and Wales (1946–51) concurrently. Like his older brother Donald Ward, Ernest Ward was born in Dewsbury, England, neither their mother's maiden surname; "Meakimmon", or "Meskimon", nor father's surname "Ward" are especially, or at all Welsh. So perhaps the England and Wales Ernest Ward's are different people, or perhaps one of their forenames is incorrect. Best regards DynamoDegsy (talk) 15:41, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
