User article

[edit]

I had previously created a user article for this at User:Boycool42/Erik Selvig. Maybe some of that can be used here. --Boycool † (talk) 13:03, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I merged part of your draft here.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 14:37, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wait, what?

[edit]

Can someone explain to me why this guy has a wikipedia article over Nick Fury? This is a very minor character who only appeared in two movies so far not counting minor roles. I know amount of appearances doesn't mean notability, but still Nick DID play a major role in those movies. He's in more movies than Thor, Tony Stark or even Captain America, so the fact he doesn't have his own article here makes no sense to me. Blaze The Movie Fan (talk) 15:34, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Blaze The Movie Fan: How about Nick Fury or Nick Fury in other media? -- Pemilligan (talk) 00:27, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I am specifically referring to the MCU Nick Fury, no other version of him. Blaze The Movie Fan (talk) 19:51, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe ask BD2412 about the possibility of this? The editor has created MCU character articles and may know whether or not Nick Fury has enough coverage for a standalone article. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 20:01, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Funny you should mention that. bd2412 T 20:05, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Nice! Blaze The Movie Fan, see above. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 20:51, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That is interesting. But I still don't understand one thing. Why is a minor character that barely anyone talks about notable enough for a Wikipedia article? Seriously, I see a lot of people on YouTube talking about Tony Stark, Thor, Steve Rogers, but I barely hear anyone talk about this guy. Most minor characters in movies etc. don't get their own WP articles, even many TV characters that have been major characters for over 5 seasons of a TV show don't get their own articles. In fairness, he's been in more movies than most minor characters, and has also been included in comic books and video games. It is also something of a rarity for a new character to be created for the film adaptation of a comic book, and then make the jump to the origin comic book series itself. bd2412 T 23:06, 5 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
