Notability

[edit]

Notability criteria for actors: "Notable actors and television personalities who have appeared in well-known films or television productions. Notability can be determined by:

  • Multiple features in popular culture publications such as Vogue, GQ, Elle, FHM or national newspapers5 --> Take a look at one of the leading newspapers of Turkey, Hürriyet: [1] - Type Emre Altug into the search engine: just Hürriyet gives 377 pages. At Zaman Newspaper: [2](in English)
  • A large fan base, fan listing or "cult" following -- [3] just one fan forum has over 1200 registered members, his official site is currently down
  • An independent biography5 -- see Emre Altug sources
  • Name recognition -- hit the name ino Google and see what happensç Also: see Emre Altug @ Powerturk, one of the leading Music TV stations in Turkey. Emre Altug @ Show TV - Sensiz Olmuyor TV Series.
  • Commercial endorsements

If this is not enough for notability then there are some serious problems with the system, i think! ---Teemeah Gül Bahçesi 13:23, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One more source for "notability..." --Teemeah Gül Bahçesi 16:18, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Plus, see systemic bias on situations like this one. You cannot expect to see millions of hits as if he is an American singer. I am sure that, if everybody in Turkey had high-speed internet and computers, I am sure there would be much more hits. Turkey is not a poor country, but it is not particularly wealthy either. He is well-known in Turkey and has produced many albums. Baristarim 08:23, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Evegidenyol.jpg

[edit]

Image:Evegidenyol.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
