Sources list Archbishop von der Ropp's date of birth as 2, 14, or 15 December 1851. The latter is from a printed reference. He was ordained priest in either 1886 or 1889. After further research, discrepancy in dates is due to difference between Julian and Gregorian calendars. 2 December 1851 and 3 November 1902 are Julian dates used within the Russian empire, while 14 December 1851 and 16 November 1902 are the equivalent Gregorian dates used elsewhere. – Maliepa (talk) 20:56, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
