[edit]@Walter Görlitz, 3family6, Ilovechristianmusic, and Metalworker14: I want you all to keep an eye on this article, where a user is removing verifiable biographical information. The Cross Bearer (talk) 02:15, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
Jamaican
[edit]Is there something more clear about his Jamaican heritage than what's at http://www.rapzilla.com/rz/features/reviews/1892-review-dwayne-tryumf-777-mark-of-the-peace ? Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:52, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
- He was born in Clapham per Cross Rhythms, where he could have attained Jamaican citizenship, while it was reported by Rapzilla. We can include, Jamaican, as part of his nationality, though. The Cross Bearer (talk) 06:54, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
- "Born and raised in Clapham, London, Dwayne Shorter, as he was then".The Cross Bearer (talk) 06:55, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
Age
[edit]Unless there is some reason this is particularly relevent to the artist, generally in BLP's as a courtesy to the subject we dont include full personal details (DoB etc) if requested removal. For rap/hip-hop artists however, an alias (or multiple ones) is quite common, and often upbringing and their location can heavily influence their work. Which is why I have left in his name (sans middle) and birthplace. "Is it sourced?" is not always the right question to ask, sometimes "Is my understanding of the subject any less because X is not here?" is a more appropriate question. - I have seen that before, but is there a request in WP:OTRS or elsewhere? If you state that it's from the WP:SPA that has been removing the information, we now have a clear WP:COI and we know that the editor's work should be closely monitored. Just setting the ground rules and expectations. Walter Görlitz (talk) 15:50, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
- To be honest its not enforced that much (as in rarely requires OTRS) precisely because its often removed. Its (the specific day/month/year of birth) rarely a notable or encyclopedic fact. When it is included, either the year or just the age is another approach. Personally I would like to see how many editors are willing to have their full name (including middle), age, date of birth etc listed in public. With all that information there are numerous shenanigans an evilly-minded person could get up to. See article now, does the above actually add anything to it? Other than listing it for its own sake. - @Only in death: Would you like to tag user talk:Pablodejaniro's page with a COI notice or shall I? I'd be happy to clear the previous three warnings in the process. Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:17, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
- @Walter Görlitz: I dont particularly like tagging users, but I will leave a message explaining the issues. Only in death does duty end (talk) 07:25, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
- Done. Only in death does duty end (talk) 07:39, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, I saw directly. It looks good. I have also removed the warnings. Walter Görlitz (talk) 14:04, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
