Merge with dueling roller coaster
[edit]I suggest a merger, because the differences are so small (if there are any differences at all; because I cannot get it from the two articles). - Puck (talk) 20:56, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- They are both dual track coasters. The thrust of dueling coasters is that the trains have near misses with one another. On the racing coaster, the two trains "race" each other. They seem different enough to have separate articles. Of course, they need enough sources for each article. If we can't find enough sources for each then they could be merged. For the defs, I looked at this site. TheTito Discuss 04:37, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
I agree they should be separate. Themeparkgc (talk) 01:11, 7 July 2010 (UTC)- I agree also, though the differences between the two should be written in the articles. Mingwei.Samuel (talk) 19:11, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
Support: I feel these two articles should be merged. There is very little difference and we could create a section on the Racing roller coaster page that talks about dueling roller coasters. In my opinion, there's not enough information for Dueling roller coaster to have their own page. There's very little differences and Dragon Challenge is one of the only ones so it's not a very significant model.--Astros4477 (talk) 13:59, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
- I've changed my mind. I believe Dueling roller coaster, Racing roller coaster, and Möbius Loop roller coaster should be merged together to form Dual-tracked roller coaster (or similar). Any thoughts on other possible article names? Themeparkgc Talk 23:36, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
- Twin-tracked roller coaster could work but Dual-tracked roller coaster is also the name of the template used.--Astros4477 (talk) 09:11, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
Doing...I'll get to work on merging these articles now. Themeparkgc Talk 23:04, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- Done I'm going to try and improve the article a bit though. Themeparkgc Talk 00:25, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
- 'Dual'-tracked is not quite the right article name. There were some Racing coasters built by John A. Miller having three tracks and Steeple Chase rides with the maximum of eight tracks. Steeple Chase at Pleasure Beach Blackpool still operates with three tracks. For the German article I chose a name translating more or less as 'roller coasters with multiple tracks'. --Sarion (talk) 10:26, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
