AfD outcome overridden (without deletion review)

[edit]

Hi @Sharkzy. The consensus outcome of the recent Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Drumnamether discussion (initiated by @IntentionallyDense and closed by @Liz) was that this small townland doesn't have sufficient notability for a standalone article. With general consensus that redirection was a reasonable alternative to deletion.

Without consideration to (or apparent reference to) that AfD discussion, you have reverted the actions of the AfD closer. And restored effectively the same content that was in place at the time of the AfD discussion. Adding, perhaps, two trivial/directory/map links to support further text.

It is not normally "OK" for individual editors to unilaterally reject or ignore the outcomes of AfD discussions. Can you advise, please, how your action here is in keeping with the related guidelines? And, in particular, why the content/title should be recreated without going through a "deletion review"? @Sharkzy - Do you have any thoughts/explanation/justification for overriding the consensus AfD outcome? Absent a discussion (which establishes that consensus has changed), the existing consensus outcome should be restored. If desired, you can always raise a deletion review thread. Moyrourkan Orange Hall is located within the townland of Drumnamether, surely this is enough notability for Drumnamether to have a Wikipedia page? Sharkzy (talk) 01:48, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
