The Parent Trap

[edit]

Isn't there a reference to the new parent trap when Bart and Simon first meet?

Title reference

[edit]

Isn`t there a reference to the "Tales from the crypt" and isn`t title a reference to the phrase from "Macbeth" ("Double, double, toil and trouble)? Zeratul r (talk) 15:32, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A reference to Tales From the Crypt? When? Most likely the title is a reference to the Macbeth play, but you'll have to find a source to prove it, sorry. A talk 18:53, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
"Tales from a Kwik-a-mart" with Apu as a rotten zombie? And isn`t any text of Macbeth (act 4, scene1) good enough for a reference?Zeratul r (talk) 20:49, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it does appear to be a parody - but the fact remains, you still can't add it without having a good definite source as a reference to confirm it. Rest assured, I'll try to find one. A talk 21:51, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It appears to come from a line in Macbeth said by the three witches: "Double, double toil and trouble". It also seems similar to a line sung in one of the Harry Potter films, possibly eluding to the Macbeth reference. OptimumCoder (talk) 07:46, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Capitals

[edit]

Why is every word in the title capitalized, I made a change the other day, but some other guy removed my change.

Richardhak talk

I'm not sure about the capitals, I have reverted it to its current capitalization. I always thought ever word, except small ones like in, the, a, an, etc, were all capitalized. CTJF83Talk 16:58, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Every word is capitalised because that's the title of the episode. Gran2 17:03, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think this is the correct way to do a title of TV show, book, movie, etc. read this. CTJF83Talk 17:06, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Music

[edit]

When Homer is having a flashback about the time Marge had a drop of beer, the music sounds like it is reminiscent of a track played in the movie Koyaanisqatsi. Maybe this should be added. (Pavelow235 (talk) 04:11, 19 November 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Kind Hearts and Coronets

[edit]

The theme of Mr. Burns' implied murdering of all those before him in the line of inheritance reminds me of the old Alec Guiness movie Kind Hearts and Coronets. Possibly an allusion that one may incorporate into the article --87.160.251.220 (talk) 20:52, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Vacuum Reference

[edit]

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but I saw this episode again today, and at the part where Bart realises the vacuums, did it seem a reference the manga Bio-Meat Nectar? The way the vacuums moved, the people acted, etc seemed to be almost exactly the same as Bio-Meat. Just wondering if this could be an actual reference, or me creating something out of a simple similarity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pegaiai (talkcontribs) 23:57, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
