Royal burgh?

[edit]

Dornoch is a royal burgh? It is not clear to me that it still qualifies. I believe Scottish burghs were aboshished in 1975.

You are right, its a former royal burgh. Unfortunately, most times I try changing this in articles I get (mild) abuse for daring to suggest that the status is no longer extant. See for instance this User_talk:Lozleader/Archive_1#Lauder. The term is in informal use of course, but there are no royal burghs any more, and there are plenty of references in legislation and local authority documents to "former burghs", but this appears to be an emotive argument where positive evidence is no competition to sentiment. *sigh* Lozleader (talk) 20:02, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Death?

Why the descrepancy in the dates she was condemned to death and the stone? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnnyarbogast (talkcontribs) 06:13, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As it says in the article, sources disagree.--Shantavira|feed me 16:51, 25 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
