Reverting edit
[edit]Here is why I have reverted an edit. This is a translation of an answer from the Dutch Department of Education:
Your reference: 147541
The Hague, September 8, 2009
Dear Mr. Georgescu,
Via postbus 51 you have asked a question about bearing your title(s). It is clear that you may not sign as drs. Georgescu Bsc.
You may not bear the title Ma (master of Arts) because you did not formally receive a master's degree. The termination ‘of Arts’ or the termination ‘of Science’ are namely legally protected and may only be used by those who have got a degree therein after the introduction of the bachelor/master curricula (2002). Everyone who has the title drs. may bear the title M (from master).
You may sign as either drs. T. Georgescu or T.Georgescu M (thus not doubly).
In the Netherlands it is not usual to bear the bachelor title if you also have a master title (therefore no combinations T.Georgescu B, M).
I hope that I have informed you enough.
With friendly greetings,
Mrs. J.G. van Opdorp
