History

[edit]

The article talks about Diversity University as if it still exists. I was hoping the History section would describe when the site was removed, and hopefully why. Bruceraf (talk) 05:18, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Builders and Programmers Should Be Recognized

[edit]

I was a builder for DU from 1993 to 2000. I built several buildings, rooms, and "bots", including several fairly complex bots designed to seem like real humans, called "Turing Bots". I volunteered all of my work. Over my 7 years associated with DU, I logged thousands of hours. There were many builders and programmers who did far more work, and donated more time than me. Some of their creations were simply brilliant.

I think there needs to be a section on this page where builders and programmers can describe examples of their best contributions to DU, state how long they volunteered, how many hours, and what it meant to them. I think this is of historical value to record this, as the DU "experiment" was in many ways instrumental in moving internet and computer technology forward. 167.199.165.183 (talk) 20:19, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
