'Rasmichoti' is not a middle name or a family name. It is a part of his first name, so we cannot just omit that. CW32 13:47, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Move from Tipangkorn Rasmichoti to Prince Tipangkorn Rasmichoti? (the vote was started 22 July 2005 13:33 and ended by Violetriga 23 July 2005, around 25 hours after the start of the vote)

  • support move, as User:Arrigo simply moved the article´s original name without posting a discussion on it first, as well User:Ahoerstemeier. this was in clear violation of Wikipedia policy. as there are no clear rules regarding the naming of Thai royals (female and male), propose to restore the original name until proper consensus can be found, without anyone steamrolling over the other. thank you. Antares911 13:33, 22 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Oppose proposed move. Princely title unnecessary for any encyclopedic purpose (such as disambiguation). Spirit of naming conventions do not require princely title to be used in heading here. Simplicity in headings is desirable. (If a reader already knows so much about Tipangkorn Rasmichoti that the reader knows he is a prince, why the reader even comes here? Explanations what someone/something IS belomgs to the text of the article, not to the heading.) Arrigo 20:45, 22 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

(Not a vote)Please don't vote on moving individual articles. We need a consistent policy. Mark1 04:16, 24 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

naming style

[edit]

This article represents now a good result of naming Thai royals, and should be used as example to articles on other Thai royals too. Titles and "of Thailand" are not usually needed, thus they can be stripped away. Arrigo 20:52, 22 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This argument is going on simultaneously at a number of articles about members of the Thai royal family. The priciple involved is that Thais (all 40 million of them) find the use of unadorned personal names for members of the royal family very offensive, and I and other users with some knowledge of Thailand (I am there now) believe that Wikipedia should take this into account. We don't do this for other royals by the way - do we have an article for Elizabeth Windsor? This article should revert to Prince Tipangkorn Rasmichoti. Adam 05:02, 23 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've named this as per reasoning given at Talk:Srirasmi of Thailand. violet/riga (t) 14:53, 23 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The second in line to the UK throne is Prince_William_of_Wales. I agree with Adam, why should Thai royalty be any different. Prince Tipangkorn Rasmichoti would be appropriate. 203.214.155.56 11:50, 28 April 2007 (UTC)Paul[reply]

Verification

[edit]

Not sure if this is the right place, but verification that the prince is second in line to the throne was requested. How about: http://www.answers.com/topic/dipangkorn-rasmijoti. 203.214.155.56 11:50, 28 April 2007 (UTC)Paul[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Dipangkorn Rasmijoti.jpg

[edit]

Image:Dipangkorn Rasmijoti.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Dipankara RasmijotiDipangkorn Rasmijoti — When the Thai version of his article refers to him as Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti, and the link to photos of him in this article, as well as most google searches for his name show more results for Dipangkorn Rasmijoti, I would think that it's obvious this current name is very incorrect. —Morhange (talk) 03:45, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The only son of Vajiralongkorn?

[edit]

"Aside from the King, both Dipangkorn and his father are the only male members of the Thai Royal Family."

Vajiralongkorn's article says he had four more sons from Mom Sujarinee Mahidol na Ayudhaya:

  1. HSH Prince Juthawachara Mahidol, born August 29, 1979
  2. HSH Prince Vacharaeson Mahidol, May 27, 1981
  3. HSH Prince Chakriwat Mahidol, February 26, 1983
  4. HSH Prince Vacharawee Mahidol, June 14, 1985

Apart from the secrecy in Thailand, isn't there any information about them? Adam78 (talk) 13:28, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mothers' milk

[edit]
poster
poster

The now 4-year-old prince still appears as a poster child for breast milk, depicted as thinking: Thai: "นมแม่ ดีที่หนื่งเลย", (For sure, mother's milk is #1). This is un-encyclopedic?

The current picture for the article is cropped from the one above.--Pawyilee (talk) 18:06, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

He is now 13 years old, and he may continue to be in the poster. Raisul-wiki (talk) 08:39, 27 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Phra Ong Tee/Ti and mother's milk

[edit]

The role the young prince has played in advancing the role of breastfeeding in Thailand has been deleted every time I've tried to add it, so whoever is anti-breastfeeding can now turn thumbs down on both his breastfeeding AND his nickname, Phra Ong Tee, as reported in this article April 27, 2006 A chronicle of a Prince The article spells the nickname "Phra Ong Tee," but wikileaks of Eric G. John's cablegrams uses RTGS "Ti." —Pawyilee (talk) 21:38, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How about a picture of him where he's not 3 years old?

[edit]

It's incredibly outdated. --Jack 23:52, 18 September 2017 (UTC)

It would of course be great if we had such a freely licensed photo. I've tagged this page with the reqphoto template. --Paul_012 (talk) 08:49, 20 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It's also an out-of-focus image. I'm deleting it. GoodDay (talk) 12:17, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Is he the Crown Prince?

[edit]

As he is first in the line of succession, would he already the defacto Crown Prince, or does he need this title bestowed upon him in the vein of the Prince of Wales title? 203.46.132.214 (talk) 02:48, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
