This page should be changed from "Dhofar (football club)", to "Dhofar F.C.", changing the URL from www.en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Dhofar (football club), to: www.en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Dhofar F.C.

Fair use rationale for Image:Dhofar Club.gif

[edit]

Image:Dhofar Club.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Recentism

[edit]

I have removed a section entitled "Season transfers" as it is cleary recentist, and does not belong on a general article about a football club. Additionally, there is currently as much detail on the past two seasons as there is of the rest of the club's history put together. This needs to be rectified. Ilikeeatingwaffles (talk) 14:21, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is nothing wrong with the Season transfers section of the page, beacuse many signings have been made, and numbers have not even been assigned yet, so it is clearly needing to stay, and be kept seperate from the current squad until more information is given...As for the recentism in the past 2 seasons, I think that the whole section (about 08-09/09-10, now merged with the history section) should be removed unless more information is given about past seasons, most importantly, notable seasons and turning points with the club...As for the neutrality dispute of the history section, it should not be there because after I re-revised the article I took out disputable words such as "horribly", just then you resubmitted the portion "...with the clubs both performed horribly with Dhofar losing many games, and not going far in the Sultan Qaboos Cup, along with Al-Nasr even fighting a relegation battle."
So the despute should be removed from the section immediatley, as should the desputed portion of the section, simple as that. --Ittihadawi (talk) 08:57, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The latest transfer details gives undue importance to recent events, and thus is indeed recentism. Note that any football club article that has reached FA status will not have such a section, because it would not survive the reviewing process. It would fail to even make it through to a good article.
Text such as "Dhofar, along with neighbors Al-Nasr have been generally labeled as the front runners of the Omani League" and "a thrilling 2-2 match" is not neutral, particularly as no source is provided to back up these statements.Ilikeeatingwaffles (talk)

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 09:57, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
