Question of balance
[edit]This article is supposed to be a biography of Wheelock, but it seems taken over by an explanation of how Pratt developed and used the music program at the Carlisle School, which properly belongs in the main article on the school. The Hauptman source is great, but the content should be applied to the Carlisle article. Not so much background is needed for Wheelock's biography; this article should emphasize his life and longer-term achievements as a lawyer.Parkwells (talk) 14:24, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
Too extensive material on James Riley Wheelock
[edit]If this article is supposed to be about both brothers, it should indicate so in the title and Lead. As it does not, it appears that a separate article is needed for James, rather than giving him so much space here. There are other examples of family articles in which several outstanding people are featured, as in the Healy family. But as it is, the article is repetitive and seems to be confused about its true topic. Material is repeated in several different sections - on the music program, elements about the band and its different leaders, and material about the brothers. And still have not made it to Wheelock's law career.Parkwells (talk) 15:49, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
Correct spelling of author Hauptman
