"Mr. Slow"

[edit]

Reworded but maintained this, it was not giving a NPOV previously, as it made claims (not simply spoke of) of Campbell being inept and this view being held by 'many', and did not cite that this view was held by the NSW Opposition lead by Barry O'Farrell. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.64.132.151 (talk) 13:52, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Date of birth

[edit]

This article needs a date of birth --Philip Baird Shearer (talk) 08:52, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

TV News report said he was 52, so born in ≈1958. Need a confirming reference still. --220.101.28.25 (talk) 20:59, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article name

[edit]

He is known as "David Campbell", and his middle name is commonly known or used, so this should be reflected in the name of the article. I would suggest "David Campbell (Australian politician)". Cyril Washbrook (talk) 09:32, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that would be better. - Shiftchange (talk) 13:57, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There is still some confusion here. The article is called David Campbell. Yet the intro sentence has him listed as David Andrew Campbell. The info box has him listed as Andrew David Campbell. I understand the name of the article. But we shouldn't have confusion with his birth name and the intro sentence. Can someone please advise and/or correct? Jherschel (talk) 11:23, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The article used to be at David Andrew Campbell. It got moved. Problem solved! Frickeg (talk) 11:36, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I know what you're saying, but shouldn't the first line be called Andrew David ("David") Campbell and not David Andrew Campbell? Jherschel (talk) 12:32, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see what you're saying. I think you've misunderstood. His name's "David Andrew Campbell", not "Andrew David Campbell" (see here). Frickeg (talk) 12:43, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Changed info box birth name to David Andrew Campbell Jherschel (talk) 14:18, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

David Andrew CampbellDavid Campbell (Australian politician) — Per WP:UCN, commonly known as David Campbell, not David Andrew Campbell. Cyril Washbrook (talk) 05:21, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PS: While checking Special:WhatLinksHere/David_Campbell_(Australian_politician), I found several articles where he was still listed as Transport Minister. I changed those I found to the past tense, but if a new minister has replaced him then the articles should be updated further. Could someone take care of that please?   Will Beback  talk  08:29, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have made the appropriate modifications in articles identified to have mentions of Campbell as the transport minister. His successor is John Robertson, in case anyone else spots another errant mention. Cyril Washbrook (talk) 09:27, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
