[edit]Extended this article to add Buchan's extensive association with Newfoundland and the Beothuk. Most of the info is from the external Dictionary of Canadian Biography and the related Beothuk links which link to this article. I'm new to Wikipedia and I don't know how to do a reference subsection; anyone want to tackle it? Vulcan's Forge 02:30, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
TYPO "The 1818 Spitsbergen expedition[6] was nearly the first the many Arctic expeditions that followed the Napoleonic Wars." Clearly a typo or missing text here ("nearly the first the many") but hard to fix without knowing the author's intent. "nearly the first of (the) many" would sort of make sense but is very clumsy--better would be "one of the first of many" but again, was this the intent? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kawika88 (talk • contribs) 19:00, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
