[edit]The article was created using the de:wikipedia page as a guidline, much of the work history info has been taken from there directly with no other reference. Unfortunately at the time the de:DB Baureihe 218 page was a bit messy, specifically in the "work history/operations" section - possibly suffering from a case of WP:recentism (I thought this was only an english disease..) As such quite a lot of info has been omitted.
Additionally there is still a little more technical info at the de:wikipedia page - if anyone can translate it. I've marked the stuff about the original "cycloconverter" as "clarifyme" since the article "cycloconverter" isn't very good, and it seems to me that the engine must rotate at constant speed for this to work - which doesn't seem quite right.
Another thing marked as problematic is the rebuilding of the Class 218.9 - this is copied from the german page, where it is also questioned. If this proves problematic it would be simple to simply not mention the changes made to the equipment (it does seem clear that the maximum speed was increased to 160km/h..)
One other minor problem is 218 197 - which is said to have a different engine on different sites - I guess this is a typo - but which one is right.?
