Why?

[edit]

Why is this miniscule publishing house of wiki-interest? Is it notable because it is an uncer-cover organization for Al-Qaeda? Is it notable because they have been of huge value to the field of loop quantum gravity? Was it involved in the O.J. case? Or is this just ordinary advertising on wikipedia? 131.211.42.152 15:03, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Response: Please count the number of incoming links to the article. What makes a publisher notable? Come up with an objective definition of notability for publishers and add it to Wikipedia:Notability
Response: D. C. Heath was minuscule only by the standards of the News Corporation. The name will be familiar to most teachers in American secondary schools.

Vandalized

[edit]

The list of notable publications has been vandalized, noted on 2009-12-30. Unfortunately, Heath is a textbook and academic publisher with correspondingly bland titles, and it might take a while for me or anybody else to fix. I got rid of the most obvious references to cow flop, etc.

You didn't sign your post. I'm wondering how many, still alive, could possibly know if some of these titles were invented from whole cloth. This is an interesting company, at least to me. Although I generally agree with the discouraging of 'laundry lists,' I believe this may be an exception to the rule, in that the list gains interest as it grows. I will be adding to it. 205.197.242.153 (talk) 17:17, 15 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
