Disease or species

Is it a disease or a species' name? I think it is a species' scientific name. The first sentence should be changed accordingly. For instance, Cryptocarion irritans is a pathogen that causes marine white spot disease or marine ich.--Miguelferig (talk) 19:41, 9 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
