National Trust template
[edit]The National Trust template has been removed as it is appropriate on the pages for the various Trusts that it mentions, but not on the pages of separate properties. In addition, the template appeared only on the pages of a few properties. Grstain | Talk 21:53, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
- Was waiting to continue the project after getting feedback … The template usually appears on the bottom of articles to generate interst in other properties and provide more information. Can be used to fill out some of the shorter articles, eg.: click on Northern Ireland and there's the pub, and a list of similar venues, with different info than in the category. —dogears (talk) 23:27, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
- Isn't part of the reason that the template only appears on the pages of a few properties because a couple of editors have been removing them..? I don't understand your reason(s) for removing the template from NT property articles to be honest, and you'll have to convince me to not re-add the template to this and other articles. I had assumed that one of the reasons for creating the template was to include it on the relevant pages: ie those articles about National Trust properties. --Mal 14:23, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
- No. The National Trust (of which I'm a life member and keen supporter) is only incidental to the CLS, and of no interest to a WP reader seeking information. We could, though, do with some interiors. The exterior is unpreposessing (? sp), while the interior is glorious. Cooke (talk) 23:18, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
"Liquor Saloon"?
[edit]The photo quite clearly shows that the building itself has "THE CROWN BAR" on the front! Why is it referred to as "The Crown Liquor Saloon"?--feline1 (talk) 11:03, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
- "Crown Liquor Saloon" is also written – I think in the stained glass in the front doors. Both titles are used in common spoken useage, with "Crown Bar" slightly more informal. Cooke (talk) 09:23, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

Gas lighting
[edit]Sat in this pub at present and it seems that the gas lighting is no more... All lights appear to be electric and I can see ceiling lights no longer in use and by the windows ALL the fittings have been badly ripped off with a capped off pipe visible. Not sure how to reflect this change in the article given it's probably first hand research or something Nrms (talk) 19:26, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

National Trust pilot
[edit]Hello! During late June, July and some of August, I'm working on a paid project sponsored by the National Trust to review and enhance coverage of NT sites. You can find the pilot edits here, as well as a statement and contact details for the National Trust.
