I moved our discussions about Slavic language, identity and material culture to Talk:Early Slavs. Thus our discussions can trigger actual improvements. Sorry, chaps, I keep forgetting to sign in. Most of the unsigned comments above are mine. The anonymous statement about emblemic remains is too sweeping, but I also doubt that the fibulae analyses rule out migration flows. But I haven't looked into this nearly enough (yet) to reach any conclusions of my own. PS: Dz, you might consider also moving the 3 sections above to Avars talk page.
