Discussion doesn't belong in body of article
[edit]I removed the following text from the body of the article, because discussion doesn't belong in the body of an article:
"Saying that a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is just another scheduling tool is tantamount to saying that the Titanic was just another boat. While maintenance scheduling is arguably its most important aspect, CMMS has many additional features that can help a company manage its maintenance function. CMMS is using software to effectively and efficiently plan and execute tasks meant to maintain a company’s operations to ensure maximum uptime of equipment critical to the production of finished goods. To successfully plan a maintenance procedure, the user needs accurate information on the equipment to be maintained, its components, and ongoing production or workload requirements. The maintenance skills and time available must be matched against the workload, equipment items, and availability. Parts and supplies must be procured in advance, in a well-planned fashion, to complete maintenance tasks on schedule. While maintenance may be complex, managing it should not be." - Joseph J. Strub - July 7, 2003.
CMMS software companies
[edit]Should there be a list of cmms software providers? Sushilover boy (talk) 21:02, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- No. These have been removed in accordance with DIRECTORY. If someone is desperate to include more links then an ODP directory could be added in accordance with WP:ELMAYBE.—Teahot (talk) 23:07, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
Updates?
[edit]Does anyone have new information or resources to add? There's a 21 year old quote, that while still relevant is 21 years old. The reference materials on the Article page are 14, 21 and 30 years old. I was hoping for some impartial information that is timely. 2603:7080:6903:2F01:A9F6:90F3:AA56:5456 (talk) 20:31, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia! Sometimes things get a little stale on certain low-traffic articles. We now have over six million articles, and can always use more editors. If you do find such fresh sources, feel free to be bold and add them to the article or this talk page. — voidxor 01:41, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
