Sale of Compton

[edit]

Can the rogue editor Smalljim check the reference before editing the article. The sale of Compton Castle was done quietly as not to outrage local residents. Check the references, and land registry website which shows the land now being owned by Lorenzo Jerald Patterson of Long Beach California.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.14.66.54 (talkcontribs) 23:47, 21 June 2008

I have checked the two so called references. Neither refer to a specific article on the website just the front page of the website for one and a generic news page on the other. Furthermore, no relevant stories can be found on either website and the only stories relating to Compton are about business as usual type. This is clearly a hoax. --NHSavage (talk) 17:11, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As requested I have also checked the land registry entry - there has been no change of ownership. See: [1]. --NHSavage (talk) 06:57, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I live locally, and am taking steps to verify this. Though rumours are rife that the castle has been sold to an American investor. I have also removed all uncited material from the article. Jimidybo (talk) 22:12, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
