Should be Renamed to "Euro gold and silver commemorative coins (Ireland)" to be coherent with "Euro gold and silver commemorative coins (Austria)" Kevin hipwell (talk) 19:43, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kevin, thank you very much for adding Ireland to what I hope it will be a great portal soon (Euro gold and silver commemorative coins). I agree on renaming this page, and if possible, changing it to adopt the same format as Euro gold and silver commemorative coins (Austria), although I am open to suggestions. I am currently working on Euro gold and silver commemorative coins (Belgium)]], following the same format. What do you think? Miguel.mateo (talk) 22:42, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

coherence or substance

[edit]

I have a somewhat conflicting feeling about this article.

  1. To be coherent with the Austria Article this article should adapt a sister name and adapt the same format.
  1. If the name of the article where to be changed then there would be no place for the "Irish Pound commemorative coins" section in this article, However Due to the relatively low amount of Irish Euro Commemorative coin Issues I feel that the "Irish Pound commemorative coins" Section gives the article Substance.

I'm not sure which would be best coherence or substance. If anyone can think of midway resolution to this conflict please feel free to make your suggestions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kevin hipwell (talkcontribs) 13:58, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kevin, I think the same, I would suggest creating a new article with a similar name and format, or at least keeping the formats aligned. That will be easier for euro readers, to switch from country to country following the same format and layout. I would suggest keep this article as it is and create a new one just for the euro gold and silver coins. FYI, the same thing happen to Austria, there is an article "Commemorative coins of Austria", which I decided not to change, but instead I created a link to the new article inside of the euro section, for exactly the same reasons. What do you think about creating a new "Euro gold and silver commemorative coins (Ireland)"? Miguel.mateo (talk) 22:53, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah that sounds like a Good solution I'll create create "Euro gold and silver commemorative coins (Ireland)" gonna start it in bout 12 hours then.Kevin hipwell (talk) 03:07, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Main Header

[edit]

In the Introduction section it says "The commemorative coins of Ireland are minted by the Central Bank of Ireland." This is not quite true, although the Central Bank of Ireland Authorize the minting they don't actually do the minting the Currency Centre does, also the £1 UN coin was minted by the Royal Mint.

Also I don't seem to be able to edit the Introduction section, can someone explain why I cant and how I can? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kevin hipwell (talkcontribs) 17:06, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
