Winter

[edit]

Where is the winter climate summary? 03:13, 17 February 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.79.155.20 (talk)

Temperature table

[edit]

The temperature table looks like it's been vandalized. A mean temp of 100F in January? That might be right in Egypt, but I doubt that's true in Missouri. Except I don't live there and I can't work out where to locate accurate information about this. Can someone help out? 204.147.113.35 21:45, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

cfa-dfa border

[edit]

The border between cfa and dfa goes through Independence, shown here: http://www.idcide.com/weather/mo/independence.htm. By the Koppen climate classification, cfa borders dfa where the coldest month's average temperature is -3C/26.6F. Independence is on that line. However, I don't know where Independence is in Missouri. Press olive, win oil (talk) 13:06, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's not what the map on the article says (it uses the current definition of 0C/32F). Springfield falls at the 32F line which runs from about Joplin to Perryville (although the hills and mountains change things locally in southern Missouri). The line here falls at a lower latitude than farther east (except in the high Appalachians) due to the reduced influence of maritime air. The Bootheel and some southern valleys are Cfa, the rest is Dfa. CrazyC83 (talk) 03:32, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
