Sexual orientation

[edit]

I've removed the link "Gay Musicians" as Chris Lowe has not officially spoken out about his sexuality. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.241.80.172 (talk)

I've been thinking about that too. It is public knowledge that Neil Tennant is homosexual, but I don't remember ever reading anything about Chris Lowe's sexuality, one way or another. — JIP |Talk 11:03, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
It can be inferred that Chris is gay. In their authorized book, "The Pet Shop Boys vs. America," Chris joked, "I never go STRAIGHT anywhere." It is hypothesized that he was involved with a Latino man who died of AIDS. That man was the influence for the title of "Domino Dancing." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.231.249.141 (talk)
This is very funny. From a group that had a song called 'It Must Be Obvious' with the lyric:
Oh, when they look at us
It must be obvious

New information?!

[edit]

Well, someone has put in a lot of new information about Chris claiming he is known to vote for the Green Party etc. without any sources or references. It also claims that Peter Andreas was Chris lover. Chris has always referred to Peter Andreas as his "mate" or "friend", nothing more. Mr. Andreas also died in 1994 which hardly can be claimed to be "the late 1990s".
it is well known Peter Andreas a very well known Arsenal football hooligan was in a relationship with Chris. This is the reason Dainton Connell (RIP) became the main protection for the pet shop boys as he was the notorious leader of The Herd the main firm at Arsenal. If no sources are given I think the information will be erased. 7 February 2008 DRF — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.227.107.192 (talk)

O.k. Since no references has been given I changed the text. 14 Feburary 2008 DRF —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.227.107.192 (talk) 12:52, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

new information about sexuality

[edit]

I copied this from Pet Shop Boys article, I wrote it sorry for my bad English.this is more like copy+paste the interview to prove the imformation

there was an interview in German Language on http://www.tagesspiegel.de/zeitung/die-bomben-da-lagen-wir-im-bett/627346.html

that said more about Chris Lowe's Sexuality on this paragraph

I don't understand German so I can't do the actual translation, but if I use google translator

"LOWE: When we were growing up, had another in the early 70s, already prepared the ground so we could live a normal gay life. There was and is, of course, occasionally violent attacks on gays, as I have experienced in my youth some arbitrary police raids on gay clubs, where we were harassed, even if homosexuality is already legal. But revolutionary energy we needed to spend no more to be openly gay. "

there were the other interviews but I can't find the actual source

-a more recent radio interview in which a call or email from a female fan expressing shall we say the desire to have Chris's children prompted the response from Chris - - You're barking up the wrong tree there, love."

-The Boston Herald Interviewe http://petshopboys-online.com/interviews/read/language/en/id/348/Pet-Shop-Boys-dazzle-with-electro-pop-extravaganza

HERALD: You were one of the first bands to address gay life in song CHRIS LOWE: Well, we’ve never hidden anything. There was never any pretense in what we do. We covered “Go West” by the Village People. We’ve never actually thought there was the need to be explicit about anything. We don’t like to be political and we don’t make political statements. Everything is in the music and you can get it if you want it. We’re just awkward bastards, really.

Removing the maintenance tag on citations

[edit]

I'm removing the maintenance tag from 2008 calling for additional citations on this article. I've gone through and added or replaced a number of citations. If anything needs further sourcing at this point, a "citation needed" tag can be added. Lizzie Nonesuch (talk) 21:03, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
