Old talk
[edit]Thanks for reorganizing this material, it works better now I think. I'll insert more references as soon as I get a chance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brickman1000 (talk • contribs) 15:41, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

I like the way this has started- but there is very little about the turtle. More Refferences than actual material. Not that I am a source for this kind of information or anything.. Maybe think about adding to the site?Mikeonatrike (talk) 21:24, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
Age of snapping turtles
[edit]Is there a way to know how old a common snapping turtle is? If so how. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.201.1.34 (talk) 10:26, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
Bfpage
[edit]I have a snapping turtle as a pet. I noticed that there is really no description of a snapping turtle, its appearance, its habits. Before I take on any major effort to improve the article, I would appreciate feedback.

Additional species
[edit]The book "Biology of the Snapping Turtle (Chelydra serpentina)" 2008. Anthony C. Steyermark, Michael S. Finkler, Ronald J. Brooks (Eds) is probably the most recent and comprehensive secondary source on this genus recommends separating the two Central/South American species (C. acutirostris and C. rossignonii) from Chelydra serpentina. "Turtles of the United States and Canada" 2009 by Ernst and Lovich also separates these species. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Matt Keevil (talk • contribs) 19:57, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

[edit]If I have time, I will try to improve this article a bit. I intend to delete the 'hybrid' section since I don't see it as reliable or important. If anyone following this has any objections, let me know.Matt Keevil (talk) 20:47, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
