[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... Caroline Dalmeny is a member of the British Aristocracy, and therefore a Notable Person. In line with this, her husband and husbands extended family have wikipedia entries.

Wikipedia's own guidelines state:

Pages that are exclusively promotional, and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to become encyclopedic. If a subject is notable and the content can be replaced with text that complies with neutral point of view, this is preferable to deletion. Note: An article which describes its subject from a neutral point of view does not qualify for this criterion. "Promotion" does not necessarily mean commercial promotion: anything can be promoted, including a person, a non-commercial organization, a point of view, etc.

As Lady Dalmeny is a "Notable Person" please can you highlight which areas do not appear to be neutral, so that they can be altered/removed? As above wiki believes this is preferable to deletion. Thank you. Happylucia (talk) 12:16, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... Lady Dalmeny is a member of the British Aristocracy, and therefore a person of interest.Happylucia (talk) 12:01, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Defence Expert? Notable? or just a socialite?

[edit]

The ref provided does not support the clam that this woman is a defence expert. so I have removed it. My own research tells me that "Caroline Dalmeny worked as a political assistant for Michael Portillo when he was defence secretary"" - that does not make her a defence expert or even notable. There are lots of issues with this page, and it reads like an overly enhanced CV. The subject seems to have a lot of Google hits, but always as a past socialite rather than as a notable person - as the ex-wife as a peer's heir, I'm not sure she is notable.
