Removing infobox
[edit]I’ve removed the infobox because there is no such “Ethnic group” called Cape Verdean Portuguese. Either you are Cape Verdean (with or without Portuguese citizenship), either you are Portuguese (descending from Cape Verdeans). Ten Islands 13:52, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
“Cape Verdean descent”, not “Cape Verdean”
[edit]I’ve redirected the page because “Cape Verdeans in Portugal” is not the best title in encyclopedic terms. If we pay attention to that list, those people are almost all Portuguese (being born and having lived in Portugal) with Cape Verdean descent, with a few of them being Cape Verdeans having acquired Portuguese citizenship. I don’t want to start off a discussion here, but some of them (Sara Tavares, Nelson Évora, etc.) are not even considered “Cape Verdean” by Cape Verdeans themselves...! - Well, these articles aren't primarily intended to hold lists of people (that's what categories are for), but rather to discuss the migration history, culture, etc. of the group in question --- for example Cape Verdeans in Italy or Chinese people in Portugal. That is a more appropriate area of discussion for an encyclopedia --- and it isn't affected by the fact that some soccer player or pop star was naturalised as a Portuguese citizen or was born in Portugal or has a white parent or whatever. To be honest, I don't know if either "Cape Verdeans in Portugal" nor "Portuguese people of Cape Verdean descent" is really getting at the right idea. cab (talk) 06:57, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
