Comment

[edit]

The cities are one and the same. Cap-Francais (Cap-Francois in eighteenth-century French) was renamed Cap-Haitien after the Revolution. There was no break in habitation or abandonment of the city in between these periods, though the entire white population left or were killed. Therefore, CF can be referenced under CH as its former name. 69.214.19.25 04:24, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Population

[edit]

The French article states that the city's population is 500,000. Is the population given here just for the city proper? 68.40.65.164 06:42, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It would be useful to integrate the following two passages:

The first describes the city around ~1790-1800, the second puts the maximum population under French colonialism at 20,000. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.150.188.133 (talk) 23:41, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
