Don't believe the hype!

[edit]

Carry out an on-line search for these falls and there's lots about them being the 'highest waterfall in England' or 'highest man-made falls' or the 'second highest in England' - much of it hype. Congratulations to the company that runs the site - doubtless they are worth visiting but be wary of using any of this information as a basis for presenting stats on these falls in Wikipedia. As is widely the case with waterfalls, the world over, there is a lot of gushing prose (sorry, couldn't help myself there) which often drowns out the truth. In reality Canonteign Falls seem to be a series of falls linked by being on a steep stream. Just check out the contour detail on OS 25K mapping and decide for yourself. cheers Geopersona (talk) 08:33, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
