Explanations good and bad

[edit]

The statement that the cancellations were due to budget constraints cannot be factually verified. All that can be factually verified is that budget constraint was the explanation given by officials when the cancellations occurred. That difference is important because other, unstated policy goals may have been more important. Given always finite government budgets and inevitable competition for funding between departments and agencies, budget constraint could serve as a universal explanation for all policy decisions. The obvious problem is that an explanation for all decisions is unlikely to be a useful explanation for any particular decision. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.71.235.4 (talk) 30 July 2009

Unscrapped Saturn 1B

[edit]

The article says "Three other surplus Saturn IBs (SA-211 through 214) were scrapped."

However, SA-211 wasn't scrapped. Per Saturn_IB it's on display at the Alabama Welcome Center on I-65 in Ardmore, Alabama, not far from the U.S._Space_&_Rocket_Center.

Saturn V on display in Huntsville, AL at U.S. Space and Rocket Center

[edit]

There is a Saturn V on display horizontally at the Davidson Center, a part of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL. It was displayed outdoors for many years, and about ten years ago was moved into the Davidson Center, in what is now called Saturn Hall. Does anyone know the designation of this vehicle? Wouldn't this constitute a third complete Saturn V? Delugach (talk) 03:35, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Go to Saturn V and scroll down to the section "Saturn V displays". Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 04:10, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Saturn Vs - plural versus “Saturn V rockets”

[edit]

I’ve never seen the launch vehicle referred to in the plural form as Saturn “Vs”; shouldn’t they be referred to as “Saturn V rockets” instead? Cyberbytli (talk) 05:06, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think your suggestion is clearer. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 05:09, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I made the changes and marked them as minor edits. Cyberbytli (talk) 05:00, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
