Merger proposal

[edit]

I propose that Canarie (dance) and Canario (dance) be merged into this new article Canary (dance), since they are the same dance in different languages (French, Italian, and English respectively). Since this is the English language WP and the term Canary is used in various locations in the English WP I propose this as the new name with the rest in redirect. The evidence is shown in the original articles, some of the pages that link to them, and some of the other language pages that link to Canarie (dance), for example: de:Canarie, nl:Canarie, and fr:Canarie (danse) from which also some contents could be reused. Finally an addition to the disambiguation page Canary would be needed. LazyStarryNights (talk) 19:40, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I copied the merger proposal talk to one of the source pages (Canarie (dance)) as per Wikipedia talk:Merging#Proposing a merger of multiple articles into a new article. Thanks to Flatscan for pointing out this procedure in the footnotes Help:Merging and Wikipedia:Merging. LazyStarryNights (talk) 06:01, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The proposal makes sense to me, a historical dance hobbyist with a long interest in this dance, if that makes a difference. Mariannep (talk) 12:13, 9 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
