Non-people usages

[edit]

Named for Evan Cadwallader, a pioneer miner/settler in early British Columbia. SEe "Cadwallader Creek". BC Geographical Names.. Didn't know how to fit these into the current page, as it's written about people only...Skookum1 (talk) 23:09, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've created Cadwallader (disambiguation) to include these. If you have WP:reliable sources which show WP:Notability for Evan Cadwallader, by all means create a new article about him. - Fayenatic (talk) 10:58, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move to Cadwaladr?

[edit]

I don't see that Cadwallader is the dominant spelling. Most bearers mentioned on this page have a single l, including the "most notable" bearer. Anyone oppose a move to Cadwaladr? garik (talk) 15:28, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've gone ahead and moved it to Cadwaladr (name)

Merge with "Cadwallader (name)"?

[edit]

"Cadwallader" is just the English spelling of the Welsh name Cadwaladr, and it's mostly just a difference in spelling, unlike, say, James and Jacob, which are variants of the same name but spelled considerably different. This page already includes other variants of the name such as "Cadwalador" and "Cadwalladr", so "Cadwallader" would be just another one of many.

I'm indifferent as to which page is moved to which, "Cadwaladr" is the original spelling, but "Cadwallader" is the more common one in English, so there are good arguments for either one prevailing. Pescavelho (talk) 13:30, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
