Indo-Caribbean diaspora

[edit]

This sentence: "Along with Canada and the United States, the UK is the only non-Caribbean nation in the world to have a significant number of Indo-Caribbean residents." is a stretch ... the use of "only" is inappropriate. Along with all the numerouse exceptions in the world, the UK is "the only.". And no indication of what a "significant number" is. The sentence needs to be edited so it makes sense. As is stands, it's pretty useless.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.154.229.134 (talk) 02:00, 13 April 2009‎ (UTC) You need to add The Netherlands here too 148.75.212.162 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 16:08, 15 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dutch Indo-Caribbean people

[edit]

Why is this section strictly about British Indo-Caribbean people? There is a large group in The Netherlands as well. Most of them hailing from Suriname, where they are the largest ethnic group, and these days it could easily be claimed that social-geographically, Suriname lies more in The Netherlands than in South-America. Also, Suriname itself might be geographically located in Suriname yet culturally it's firmly rooted in the Caribbean (including being a member or CariCom). I suggest this article should be rewritten to speak of Indo-Caribbean people in general and put less emphasis on the British aspect. 148.75.212.162 (talk)
