Preseli Bluestones
[edit]The two diagrams appear to be suggesting that the Preseli Bluestones from which part of Stonehenge is built were carried from Wales to England by this glacier rather than being transported by raft. There is, however, nothing in the text about any such theory.
Clarification on Ice Age Requested
[edit]I'm wondering which ice age this glacier is from? It just says "From 'the' ice age", but there were at least 5 known ice ages. Would be a nice addition to the article, I think. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.43.230.119 (talk) 23:07, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yes I was thinking the same thing? Which Ice Age? The most recent or one from a different epoch? How can such a badly written article be considered for the main page? 109.155.66.202 (talk) 12:55, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
Irish Glacier
[edit]This whole article appears to been written (and the maps skewed) by Brian John to promote his "glacial transport of the Stonehenge bluestones" theory, and as such should be taken with a large pinch of salt. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.2.76.101 (talk) 11:06, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
Skewed content
[edit]Despite the title, this article is not about the BIIS, but about the Irish Sea Glacier as it is sometimes called. Moreover, as noted above, both ice bodies will have formed, albeit in different ways, during multiple ice ages and this is not made clear. Hmm. Geopersona (talk) 05:03, 13 January 2025 (UTC)
