Who ever edited this article to make the company sound picture perfect seems like a representative. Examples include emphasis on "FREE WIFI" and the removal of the fact that their hotels were in a list of dirty hotels. Im fixing it now. ::Manors:: talk to me 20:25, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

POV

[edit]

I added a POV tag as things like 'unlike other hotel chains' read like advertisements. Computerjoe's talk 18:19, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed ths too, I support the addition of a pov tag. Ottawa4ever (talk) 14:31, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I cleaned up the NPOV issues as best I could and removed the pov tag. But the article could still benefit from more references. Parts sound like they come from a travel website. --Mdukas (talk) 17:20, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The latest set of reversions (without justification) have been made by an IP address registered in Manchester as Britannia Hotels. This looks like a violation of wikipedia policy. A referral will now be made to administrators. Contaldo80 (talk) 08:54, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I fear the same imp or an associate has been up to even more mischief. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramsey Campbell (talkcontribs) 08:32, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

They won't get anywhere from vandalising all the time. Contaldo80 (talk) 10:01, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've just reverted someone editing meeting this criteria. Devokewater (talk) 13:47, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Devokewater: Semi-protection seems to be the best option for this article if the problem with Britannia IPs trying to whitewash reality here has been going on for some time. --Minoa (talk) 02:42, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mass content deletion

Post proposed changes here first

[edit]

Previously there has been a strong indications that individuals connected with the company have been editing the page to make it look favourable to Britannia. This contravenes Wikpedia rules on conflict of interest. The article was protected for a period to stop this. Can I suggest that any further changes to the article are proposed first on the talk page before amendments are made to the article itself. We can then ensure that there is impartiality. Contaldo80 (talk) 07:30, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Do not remove my comments from the talk page. I have suggested constructively that we look at the issues here on the talk page. I removed a lot of unsourced, repetitive and superfluous material. If you think something specifically important has been lost then we can discuss and consider how best to include it. Otherwise I will suggest to administrators that they again protect the page. Contaldo80 (talk) 07:35, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have now referred the matter to administrators asking for page protection. Contaldo80 (talk) 07:35, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have added references to the chain being the worst in terms of customer satisfaction (according to Which!) in 2013 and 2014. 89.241.169.126 (talk) 02:35, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

2015 score

Unusual articles

[edit]

@Devokewater: what do you think about adding Britannia Hotels to the list of unusual articles with the description "the laughing stock of British hospitality for over ten [11. added by pol098] years"? --Minoa (talk) 16:03, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

As my opinion, having contributed to the article, was requested: I don't think it's really unusual, just dismal. I should think quite a lot of things have had 11 consecutive bottom, or top, consecutive rankings for quality. Best wishes, Pol098 (talk) 20:07, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
