Name

[edit]

Perhaps someone could add what is the origin, if known, of the town's name "Brick"?

Boosterism

[edit]

This article's boosterish tone seemed wrong for an encyclopedia, so I toned it down to make it look less like a press release. See Wikipedia:Neutral point of view.

It is customary to state a reason when reverting someone's changes, that would be nice in the future. I'm guessing that you work for the town and take great pride in it, but please take a look at Wikipedia:Ownership of articles. --CliffC 22:33, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"boosterish" is not a word --199.43.48.131 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.43.48.131 (talkcontribs) 13:14, 29 June 2007

I suggest you crank up Google before making such a claim. --CliffC 14:17, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Brick Township, New JerseyBrick, New Jersey – Township is no longer included in the official name of Brick. Due to population, it is still technically a township, however more commonly referred to as a city. Any map, Google or otherwise, simply refers to the area as Brick. Relisted. BDD (talk) 20:58, 10 September 2013 (UTC) obversed 18:41, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

But that's not what's being proposed. I could complain about WP:USPLACE all day, but one thing it all but guarantees is that if you see an article titled Foo, State, it's describing a populated place in that state. --BDD (talk) 20:15, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that is not the proposal. So I also wonder what the objection means. Everyone knows that bricks are associated with the company that made them. Vegaswikian (talk) 02:28, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Population

[edit]

The second sentence in the first paragraph of this article states the population of Brick Township is currently "100 billion". This is blatantly wrong, considering that the population of Earth itself does not reach 100 billion (currently, Earth's population is approximately 7.125 billion). I would suggest that someone reconcile the Demographics section and the Introduction, as the Demographics section claims a much more reasonable estimate of 75,072 people in Brick Township. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joeb34997152 (talkcontribs) 17:45, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mark for improvement

[edit]

I came to Wikipedia hoping to learn town history such as why it is called Brick. I found my answer elsewhere but someone knowledgeable about the town should rewrite the history section with a focus on town history rather than vignettes of interest. 73.64.32.76 (talk) 18:23, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
