Is it "Bolky" or "Bolkly"? -- the article seems to be inconsistent. In any case, a scholarly transcription would not have a y at the end.

And "Bolkly" actually sounds completely un-Arabic -- it would have to be spelled as two words (like Ramallah or Omdurman) and/or have an extra vowel to be Arabicized... AnonMoos 19:38, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bolkly...not Bolky

[edit]

It is Bolkly, not an arabic name though, and "Bokla" is more commonly used by egyptians. TheEgyptian 24 september 2006

Paul Klee

[edit]

Please stop putting false information about Paul Klee in entry. The area was called Bulkeley before World War One, long before Klee visited. (Languagehat 00:42, 20 March 2007 (UTC))[reply]

See 1900 map on this page, showing "Stat. Bulkeley" in center: http://www.egyptedantan.com/alexandrie/alexandrie20.htm (Languagehat 14:32, 20 March 2007 (UTC))[reply]
