File:Bobrennie1.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Bobrennie1.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Bob Rennie Page Update

[edit]

I'm doing some work for a business associate of Bob Rennie's, and I've filled in some details about Rennie's life and work. Please let me know if further citations or supporting information are required. Thanks. Hsamson (talk) 18:49, 28 September 2011 (UTC)hsamson[reply]

Article reads like an advertisement

[edit]

The sources used to support some of the claims such as "#1", "best", "first", "biggest", etc., in this article are primarily from interviews of the subject, and seemingly are not held to the same rigours for verifiable citations required by other articles in Wikipedia. Other articles seem to require a national news authority as a citation and not a local online rag, and particularly an article which shows a photo of the subject promoting the publication.

I'm disappointed that this controversial player in the local commercial "scene" is allowed to have such an article that reads more like an advertisement than a fact-based encyclopedic entry. I would question that the subject and close supporters have had a hand in the writing and editing of this article!

Further, I'd like to see more about the controversy of the subject's glorified development achievements that have and continue to cause the local poor and homeless to suffer. I would also like to see this article also include the ongoing loud and public protests against the subject's development efforts -- which I'm sure can be supported in equally or more concrete citable sources.
